JJ Feild plays Ed in hit Paramount+ series, Little Disasters, which is currently airing on Channel 5

Channel 5 viewers have been hooked on Paramount+ series Little Disasters.

The psychological thriller first aired in 2025 on Paramount+ and it is currently airing on Channel 5 with episode four airing tonight (Sunday 21 June).

Adapted from Sarah Vaughan’s bestselling novel of the same name, Little Disasters centres on a decade-long bond between four women — Jess, Liz, Mel and Charlotte — who first met as expectant mothers with little in common beyond their due dates, yet have supported one another throughout the trials of parenthood ever since.

A synopsis reads: “When perfect stay-at-home mother Jess takes her baby daughter to hospital with a head injury that she can’t explain, her close friend and on-duty A&E doctor Liz must make the excruciating decision of whether to call social services.

“With one phone call, Liz sets in motion a chain of events that ripples, fractures and nearly destroys not only their families but their entire friendship group.

“As the threat of police and social services hangs over the family and Jess’ perfect life unravels around her, their friends, Mel and Charlotte, are drawn into the investigation.

“Each of the women harbours judgments about each other, but these ultimately become judgments about themselves, all secretly whispering the same insidious question: ‘Am I a bad mother?’ In a desperate search for the truth, everyone comes to question what really happened to Betsey, and what Jess’ family is truly hiding.”

In the gripping series, JJ Feild plays Ed, who is Jess’ husband. JJ, 48, is best known for the likes of Northanger Abbey, Captain America: The First Avenger and Austenland – to name just a few.

However, he isn’t the only famous person in his family as his partner is Hollywood actress Neve Campbell. The couple are said to have been an item since 2011 and they have two children together – Caspian, 13, and Raynor, 8.

Neve, 52, soared to fame with the leading role of Sidney Prescott in the slasher film Scream, which has since become its own Scream franchise. She has reprised her role in each film except the sixth movie.

Other famous roles include the 1996 film The Craft, where she played Bonnie Harper.

More recently, Neve has appeared in House of Cards as LeAnn Harvey and The Lincoln Lawyer as Maggie McPherson.
