Corrie: Maria exposes ‘affair’ between Gary and Sarah

There’s explosive scenes on Coronation Street on Monday, as a bombshell rocks the cobbles.

Maria Connor exposes her husband Gary Windass and Sarah Platt, claiming to have uncovered their secret. She publicly rumbles them to the group they are enjoying dinner with.

At this dinner with Maria is Gary, Sarah, Sarah’s partner Kit Green, Todd Grimshaw and Summer Spellman. We now know that the dinner party isn’t the only dramatic moment happening on Monday.

The hour-long episode will also reveal who killed Theo, with flashbacks giving us all the answers. Theo’s partner Todd is at this dinner party, as is Summer who was recently imprisoned for the crime.

But it’s not the identity of Theo’s killer that Maria has worked out. Instead, Maria believes she has rumbled another huge secret, and she’s ready for war.

Maria shocks everyone when she declares exes Gary and Sarah have been “at it for weeks”. In her defence, they have been acting very strangely.

From secret meet-ups to cryptic phone calls and deleted messages, it’s no wonder Maria is convinced her husband is playing away with Sarah. Sarah and Gary are hiding something, and we know that Gary was there the night Theo died.

Ever since Sarah’s attack on that same night, she’s been spiralling. Gary has been defending her to people, while his own odd behaviour has not gone unnoticed.

Sarah has been on hand to defend him too, so it is very obvious they are up to something. Maria thinks it’s an affair, and she wastes no time in gathering everyone for a toast at the dinner party, to expose them both.

It seems Sarah’s partner Kit is also suspicious, as Maria points out he gathered the exes together to get answers. He doesn’t exactly deny this, while Sarah and Gary try to stop Maria from saying anything else.

Sarah tells her she’s got it all wrong, while Gary seems embarrassed. It’s then that Maria raises her glass and shouts out the pair, suggesting they are having an affair.

But is Maria right, and has she finally exposed Sarah and Gary’s secret? There’s not long to wait to find out, as Sarah and Gary will have to respond to the accusation in Monday’s episode, with lies exposed, secrets at risk and, of course, Theo’s killer also being outed at some point.
