Olympic ski legend Bode Miller disputes police report as he breaks silence over Idaho drug arrest

Olympic skiing legend Bode Miller disputed his drug possession arrest, claiming his friend had cannabis without his knowledge — just days before the anniversary of his daughter’s death.

Miller – a six-time Olympic alpine skiing medalist – was charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia following his arrest in Fremont County, Idaho, on June 6, according to court records viewed by The Post.

“I was pulled over for accelerating while passing another vehicle on a highway in Idaho,” Miller wrote on Instagram Tuesday night in a post titled “Statement.”

“My friend, who was traveling with me, had a small amount of cannabis and a cannabis pipe in his possession, which I was unaware of,” Miller said. “We fully cooperated with the officer. I am hopeful the misdemeanor charges will be dropped once the facts are reviewed.”

However, police accused Miller of having magic mushrooms on him when he was arrested.

Court documents, which didn’t detail the arrest, claimed Miller was found in possession of a white dispensary bag containing 4.1 grams of psychedelic mushrooms, Fremont County Sheriff’s Deputy Jacob Hurt wrote in a probable cause statement.

The 48-year-old father of eight posted a $5,000 cash bond and pleaded not guilty to both charges during a court hearing on June 12.

A pretrial hearing is scheduled for July 29 in Fremont County.

Miller’s arrest came two days before the eighth anniversary of his 19-month-old daughter’s fatal drowning at a neighbor’s pool party in Orange County, Calif.

Little Emeline made it into the pool water before first responders rushed the toddler to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Following the tragedy, Miller and his wife, Morgan, have become advocates for water safety education for parents, according to TODAY.

Miller is tied for second for the most Winter Olympic medals won by an American athlete.

He competed in five different Olympics between 1998 and 2014, racing in the slalom, giant slalom, super-G, downhill and combined, the latter four in which he won at least one medal.

During the 2010 Vancouver Games, Miller won his first and only gold medal in the combined, edging out Croatia’s Ivica Kostelić by a mere 0.33 seconds.

Miller’s last major race was at the 2015 world championships in Colorado, where he competed in the super-G but wiped out mid-run after hooking his arm on a gate and spiraling into a somersault, tearing his right hamstring tendon after his ski slashed him.

He retired from competitive skiing in 2017, but has stayed around the sport in various ways since, working as a broadcaster among other roles.
