NYC thug violently mugs 89-year-old man of $1K — and even his $10 necklace

A cruel mugger tossed an 89-year-old man to the ground and robbed him of more than $1,000 after the senior left a Queens bank last week, cops and sources said.
The elderly victim had just stepped out of the Capitol One bank on Jamaica Avenue near Sutphin Boulevard around 12:30 p.m. Thursday when the much-younger menace approached and hurled him to the pavement, according to cops and law-enforcement sources.
The brute kicked the terrified victim and grabbed $1,300 that he was carrying, police said.
The criminal also got away with the octogenarian’s necklace, but that piece was worth only $10, according to cops and sources.
The senior suffered injuries to the back of his neck in the violent robbery, police said.
Cops are still looking for the attacker, described as between 18 and 25 years old, with a medium complexion, straight black hair and weighing about 175 pounds.
He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, gray shorts and black shoes.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or, for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
