Rihanna surprises fans with her first performance in years at Jay-Z concert: I ‘missed this s–t’

The Bad Gal is back!
Rihanna surprised fans by hitting the stage to perform at Jay-Z’s “Extra Innings” concert at Yankee Stadium in Brooklyn, New York.
Early Monday morning, the “Diamonds” singer sang the hook to Jay’s 2009 hit “Run This Town.”
After they finished that performance, Rihanna told the sold-out crowd — which included her boyfriend, A$AP Rocky, and their 10-month-old daughter, Rocki — “Y’all know I’m rusty, right? It’s been a while. Y’all with me right now?”
The Fenty Beauty founder, 38, then performed her 2015 track “Bitch Better Have My Money.”
Before exiting the stage, Rihanna told the audience: “I missed this s–t, y’all! New York, I love you guys!”
The “Neede Me” songstress hasn’t had a live show since March 2024, when she performed a private, 90-minute concert in India at the lavish pre-wedding festivities of Indian billionaire heir Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant.
Before that, Rihanna performed a medley of her hits — while pregnant with her second son, Riot — at the 2023 Super Bowl halftime show.
Jay-Z’s third and final concert at Yankee Stadium was initially supposed to start at 8 p.m. on Sunday night.
However, the show was delayed for hours due to hordes of fans breaking through security and forcing the iconic Bronx venue into lockdown.
The “99 Problems” emcee, born Shawn Carter, didn’t take the stage until 12.15 a.m. Monday.
Jay-Z, 56, apologized for the chaotic scenes when he took to the stage, telling the crowd that there were “like 10,000 people outside, and we closed all the doors, and somebody rushed the door.
“They closed the door for you guys’ safety and everyone’s safety outside,” he added.
“I don’t want to start the music and people get trampled. I’m really sorry for the inconvenience, but I had to make sure everyone was OK. I appreciate your patience.”
Several other stars joined the hip-hop mogul onstage Monday, including Pharrell, Teyana Taylor, Usher, Jermaine Dupri and, of course, Jay’s megastar wife, Beyoncé, who also joined him for night one of his Yankee Stadium shows.
