Tennis stars Alex de Minaur, Katie Boulter get married after Wimbledon heartbreak

Days after facing heartbreak at Wimbledon, tennis players Alex de Minaur and Katie Boulter tied the knot in England.

The couple, who have been together for six years, had a secret ceremony in a Leicestershire village, near where the bride grew up, on the final day of play at Wimbledon on Sunday, the Daily Mail reported.

The ceremony was held in a church in front of a small gathering of family. A celebration at a nearby pub followed.

The newlyweds were photographed leaving the ceremony being showered with rose petals. Boulter, 29, wore a white off-the-shoulder gown while de Minaur, 27, donned a black suit, white shirt and bow tie.

In an untraditional move, the couple arrived at the ceremony together in a black Porsche Carrera.

Their nuptials took place on the same day Jannik Sinner defeated Alexander Zverev in the men’s Wimbledon final.

The couple announced their engagement in December 2024 with a joint post on social media.

The happy occasion comes just days after disappointing performances at the All England Club. De Minaur lost in the fourth round to Italian Flavio Cobolli on July 6. Boulter was eliminated in the first round of her home slam.

In his post-match interview, de Minaur appeared dejected and discussed the mental toll difficult losses have taken on him.

“To fall short constantly, you start doubting yourself. You start doubting whether you’re going to be able to break through and kind of take it to the next step,” de Minaur told reporters.

De Minaur, the world No. 5, has never advanced past the quarterfinals of a major in his 36 appearances.

However, de Minaur said, he would use some exciting events in his personal life to get past the heartbreak.

“I’ve got some pretty big things happening soon, some stuff that I’m very excited for,” de Minaur said. I think my best way forward is to channel my focus into that, into something positive, and that should help put this in the past.”
