A historic horror franchise is getting the Peacock prequel treatment.

Crystal Lake, a new drama series headlined by Linda Cardellini as the infamous Pam Voorhees, takes Friday the 13th fans back to the cursed camp where the horror film series was set. As noted by Entertainment Weekly, the series hailing from creator and showrunner Brad Caleb Kane (IT: Welcome to Derry) and A24 is set in the ’70s, following Pam, a single mother mourning the loss of her young and sickly son Jason. Per Peacock’s synopsis, Jason “tragically drowned in the town lake almost a year before.”

“When two strangers arrive at Pam’s door digging into her past, a disturbing chain of events is set into motion, leaving the townspeople of Crystal Lake wondering: just who is Pam Voorhees?” the series’ synopsis concludes.
