Jared Verse reveals hilarious rookie moment with 49ers star

The Rams stunned the NFL by trading rising star Jared Verse to the Browns for Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett.
Verse played a key role for the Rams in his first two NFL seasons, winning Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2024. But the Rams chose to part ways with the 25-year-old to acquire the league’s most elite defensive player.
Though Verse was traded by the Rams in the offseason, he recalled a hilarious moment between him and 49ers offensive tackle Trent Williams during his rookie year.
On NFL Network, Verse shared his welcome-to-the-NFL moment in which Williams played a leading role.
“It was against Trent Williams at SoFi Stadium. He didn’t throw me in the ground or nothing like that. He got to my outside shoulder, and usually if somebody gets on my outside shoulder I’m able to just throw him off, move him out the way, drop him to the ground,” Verse said.
“You can’t do that with Trent. I tried to move his hands, it was like moving cinder blocks. I literally like move his hands, chopping, doing all this stuff to get his hands off. And I literally said like, ‘Trent, get off of me.’
“Trent’s got like a deep-ass voice. He literally just starts laughing and was like, ‘You so funny, Verse.’”
The Rams and 49ers will square off to open the NFL season in Australia, but Verse won’t compete for LA.
The defensive end will start the next chapter of his career with the Browns.
