Argentina fans turn on each other as tables, benches fly in wild World Cup scene

Bills fans throw each other through tables. Argentina soccer fans throw the tables at one another.

Fans of La Albiceleste engaged in a wild intra-fan-base fight in Atlanta on Tuesday night on the eve of Argentina’s 2-1 win over England in the World Cup semifinals.

This stunning scene allegedly unfolded at Underground Atlanta during what The Sun described as a “flag-waving” rally and featured backers of rival Argentinian soccer teams.

Fans of San Lorenzo and Huracan reportedly clashed during the rally, with a minute-plus clip showing some fans throwing water jugs and others tossing tables and benches.

A pair of fans picked up a rectangular blue bench and raised it over their heads before unloading it, although it did not seem to hit the target.

One fan attempted to lift a four-sided table and push it toward a fan, but the other fan knocked it down before anyone could be seriously injured.

A police officer eventually entered the fray and grabbed one and moved him out of the picture, while the person taking the video captured fans appearing to throw bottles at one another.

Another officer ducked while an object flew near his head before it seemed things began to de-escalate.

A handcuffed individual being led by an officer then emerged while screaming in another language, while one fan stated, “You ruined the party.”

Thankfully for Argentina fans, they didn’t have to take out more frustrations Wednesday as the reigning champions rallied late to down England and advance to the World Cup final for the third time in their past four tries.

Argentina tied the game at 1-1 in the 85th minute before scoring the game-winner seven minutes later to stun the Brits.

Argentina will now attempt to become the third country to win back-to-back titles and the first since Brazil in 1962 when it faces Spain on Sunday in the final.

Spain is favored after downing France in the semifinal.
