Sacramento ‘dine-and-dash’ patrons allegedly walk out on $500 restaurant tab

A California family allegedly walked out on their $500 tab at a popular seafood restaurant on Tuesday.
Surveillance footage from the Captain Crab in Sacramento showed the family of six quickly exiting allegedly without paying.
A manager at the seafood joint, Brandy, confirmed the dine-and-dash and they’re in the process of referring them to the police.
She said the store deals with food-stealers around “three-four times” a month, and offenders are usually larger parties.
Captain Crab has been trying to “alleviate” the issue “as much as possible,” but the latest offense made them go public.

The business shared a video where an alleged offender with the Instagram username datgurl_nanabee is heard bragging about the alleged crime and that she didn’t do it out of necessity because “anybody who knows me know I stay with money.”
“Y’all know I have money to pay for that s–t,” she said. “I just be doing s–t. Y’all mad because you b—hes ain’t me.” She then admits to the crime anyway.
“Y’all mad because I got away with a dine-and-dash and y’all didn’t,” she said. “We just gave y’all something else to talk about.”
The person is seen in the surveillance footage with the same shirt on that she wears in an Instagram post. She’s heard telling social media users not to share the video “before we be getting outside.”
Captain Crab describes itself as a dining establishment “rich” in Cajun heritage. “Our dishes are inspired by traditional Louisiana recipes, bringing authentic flavors to every plate,” they wrote.
The chain has locations in Sacramento, Clovis, Elk Grove, and Stockton.
It’s unclear if anyone in the family has been charged with a crime. A dining and dashing charge, known as “defrauding an innkeeper” in California, would likely be a misdemeanor offense if the value was under $950, according to legal experts.
