Hannah Waddingham Teases Rebecca’s Love Life In ‘Ted Lasso’ Season 4: “He’s Not Unattractive”

Hannah Waddingham Teases Rebecca’s Love Life In ‘Ted Lasso’ Season 4: “He’s Not Unattractive”

Hannah Waddingham was just as desperate for another season of Ted Lasso as fans of the Apple TV soccer—excuse me, football—comedy were, and the actress teased some of what’s to come in the highly anticipated Season 4.

During her visit to The View on Friday, Waddingham recalled how she felt when she got the news that Ted Lasso Season 4 was a go, noting that it only made sense to her with how Season 3 ended.

“I thought, ‘Well, how can we not?’ When the last thing you see is Keeley (Juno Temple) giving Rebecca a thing saying ‘the women’s team,’” Waddingham explained. “I just thought come on guys. When are we actually doing this? It was time to come back.”

As Apple announced in January, Ted Lasso Season 4 will see Ted (Jason Sudeikis) return to Richmond, where he takes on “his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women’s football team.”

“Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would,” the synopsis added.

According to Waddingham, the Ted Lasso cast has remained “in each other’s lives” since its original conclusion, so there was “no missing each other.” However, returning to the role of Rebecca Welton was “lovely” for Waddingham “in terms of [her] getting [her] pencil skirts back on and just getting into that zone again. She also had nothing but praise for the female footballers cast in the latest installment.

“And I must just say, you guys wait and see, these women that they have cast are absolute gangsters. They are magic, and I can’t wait for you to fall in love with them,” she gushed.

Alyssa Farah Griffin wouldn’t let Waddingham go without asking for some intel on the possibility for a romantic arc in Rebecca’s storyline this season.

“And we have a Rebecca love story I’m hoping,” she chimed in. “I know you can’t tell us anything, but… we’ve been waiting!”

Waddingham played coy, letting slip a little tease before taking a sip from her mug.

“He’s not unattractive,” she quipped. “Gotta stay professional, Hannah!”

Ted Lasso Season 4 premieres on Wednesday, Aug. 5. The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
