Sicko dental tech sentenced to decades in jail for child sex abuse

A perverted Arizona dental assistant was sentenced to 40 years in prison in a plea deal for sexually abusing three young children while they were under anesthesia during dental procedures, Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell announced Friday.
Delon Garcia — who worked as an X-ray tech at Kidiatric Dental — exploited his position to abuse victims between the ages of four and six during routine dental procedures, said authorities.
Investigators opened a case in May 2024 after Chandler police received a report from the parents of a six-year-old girl, who said Garcia, 29, touched her and photographed her during a dental appointment, AZ Family reported.
According to investigators, Garcia told the child that staff liked to bring six-year-olds “to a different room to check out their teeth.” He then took her to a separate room and told her mother to stay behind with her younger sibling.
Detectives later determined Garcia had inappropriately touched the girl and photographed her during the exam.
Detectives then connected the pedo predator to a prior incident from September 2022 involving another six-year-old girl who was also abused during an X-ray.

A forensic search of Garcia’s phone uncovered explicit images of a third victim, a four-year-old girl, who was under anesthesia at the time the abuse took place.
Garcia, who was originally facing 14 felony counts following his arrest in May 2024, pleaded guilty to one count of attempted molestation of a child, one count of sexual conduct with a minor and two counts of attempted sexual exploitation of a minor, Mitchell’s office said.
“This defendant was trusted with the care of vulnerable children during routine dental procedures, and he exploited that trust for his own sexual gratification,” said Mitchell after the sentencing.
Following his time in prison, Garcia will be under lifetime supervised probation.
