Minka Kelly is giving the fans what they want!

On today’s episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, Kelly gave some insight into what fans can expect from the upcoming second season of her hit show Ransom Canyon, which premieres in full on Netflix this Thursday, July 23.

“This season, it’s a lot lighter and funner. It’s very sexy, this season,” Kelly teased.

The Ransom Canyon star went on to elaborate on her character Quinn’s journey in the second season, adding, “[Quinn] has a big decision this season. She goes away for six months to work with the New York Philharmonic, and then she comes back six months later, and a lot can happen in six months. She met someone else.”

The drama! But that’s not all…

Kelly also teased, “When things are hard, it’s very easy to romanticize the new, fun thing, and so you go home, and you’re faced with: where does your heart belong?”

It’s the type of storyline that Kelly says will provide Quinn’s “dilemma” for this season as she navigates what her relationship with Josh Duhamel‘s Staten could look like in the future.

However, never doubt the Queen herself, Kelly Ripa, to ask a follow-up. “Here’s the thing, they could never really get together because they need to, for many seasons, have the will they or won’t they, right?” Ripa questioned, adding, “I used to work on a soap opera. I know all about this!”

Kelly clarified, “A little different than a soap opera, you know? Season 3, they might. What I’m looking forward to discovering is sort of what happens when you do actually get together because anyone can fall in love and fall in lust. But it’s when you actually do get together, and you create a home together, and you find out the ugliest parts of each other, and you still choose each other. And what does that look like?”

The Ransom Canyon star went on to express her hope for a third season, saying, “And so, I’m excited to explore — if they do…”

Live with Kelly and Mark co-host Mark Consuelos quickly interjected, “Oh, there will be a season 3!”

Only time will tell! Until then, mark your calendars. Season 2 of Ransom Canyon streams exclusively on Netflix on July 23.
