The Queen Will Return! Anne Rice’s ‘Interview With the Vampire’ Renewed For Season 4

If you thought the story was over, think again. Anne Rice’s Interview With the Vampire is set to return for Season 4.

On Friday, July 24, AMC Global Media announced the return of everyone’s favorite horror series. The renewal comes shortly after the season finale of Season 3, which was named the The Vampire Lestat.

The show was rebranded for Season 3 to follow the second novel in Anne Rice’s vampire chronicles. This rebrand shifts the point of view and narration from Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson) to his counterpart Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid). The season explores the life story of Lestat, from his time as a mortal to becoming a rock sensation.

The series ended with Lestat narrating how his show, not shown on-screen, did spark change in the world and awakens Akasha (Sheila Atim). The series ends on a cliffhanger, leaving fans of the series itching for more. What will Season 4 be about? Will it follow the next book in the series? Read on to find out.

What Will Interview With the Vampire Season 4 Be About?

Fans speculated and now it is confirmed that Interview With the Vampire will follow the next book in the series, titled The Queen of the Damned. The news was announced during the show’s San Diego Comic-Con International Hall H panel. Since it will be based on the novel, fans may assume the story will take place directly after Lestat’s concert, like in the book. Lestat’s music wakes up the queen of all vampires, Akasha, who wants to rule the world.

Dan McDermott, Chief Content Officer of AMC Global Media and President of AMC Studios, said, “We can’t wait to continue the journey with Queen of the Damned, one of the most iconic stories in Anne Rice’s mythology, and watch our established and beloved characters confront Akasha with their world, and ours, very much hanging in the balance.”

Who is the Queen of the Damned Showrunner?

Hannah Moscovitch will serve as showrunner and executive producer of Anne Rice’s Queen of the Damned. Moscovitch was a writer on the first two seasons of Interview with the Vampire, and an executive producer on The Vampire Lestat. She is a critically acclaimed playwright known for her work with the play Sexual Misconduct of the Middle Classes, as well as the the Crave TV miniseries Little Bird.
