LeBron James’ move to the 76ers has sportsbooks all scattered on his NBA MVP outlook. 

Following his announcement on Friday that he’s headed to Philadelphia on a two-year, $8 million deal, James’ longest odds to win the award are priced at 750/1 at FanDuel while he’s available for as short as 200/1 at bet365.

James, 41, will converge with stars Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey and new blockbuster acquisition Jaylen Brown to help end a 43-year championship drought in Philadelphia. 

All three of those players are priced ahead of James in the MVP market, with Brown at 40/1, Maxey at 50/1 and Embiid — the only of the three who’s won it before — at 150/1.

He’s expected to ease the offensive burden on the younger stars and serve as a facilitator. 

With James in the mix, Maxey can attack more off the ball and in transition while Brown can focus more on scoring rather than the burden of creating every possession. A healthy Embiid would benefit from another elite passer who can generate looks through pick-and-rolls and inside-out action.

On defense, James can conserve energy by relying on Brown and Philadelphia’s wing depth to handle more difficult perimeter matchups, which can help preserve him for the playoffs.

James is listed at 1000/1 odds to win Defensive Player of the Year at DraftKings. 

But perhaps most importantly, James offers veteran leadership and a championship pedigree to a franchise that has failed to reach the Eastern Conference Finals since Embiid was drafted 10 years ago.

James last won MVP in the 2012-13 season when he led the Heat to a 66-16 regular season by averaging 26.8 points, 8.0 rebounds and 7.3 assists. 

Last season, James assumed a supporting role for the Lakers, posting 20.9 points, 6.1 rebounds and 7.2 assists, his lowest output since his rookie campaign in 2003-04.
