When Does ‘The Odyssey’ Come to Streaming?

It’s been a pretty good two weeks for The Odyssey.

Christopher Nolan’s Certified Fresh action fantasy exceeded expectations by earning over $124 million during its opening weekend, which was the director’s biggest debut since 2012’s The Dark Knight Rises. Per Variety, it was the third largest opening of 2026 — Toy Story 5 made $159 million, and The Super Mario Galaxy Movie earned $131 million — and has made almost $700 million globally since its July 17 release.

Okay, I take back what I said about the movie having a “pretty good two weeks.” It’s been a very good two weeks.

Starring Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Samantha Morton, Zendaya, and Charlize Theron, The Odyssey currently has a 94% Tomatometer and 97% Popcornmeter on Rotten Tomatoes. Fans are flocking to theaters to watch, but when will The Odyssey make its way to streaming? Here’s everything we know.

Where To Watch The Odyssey:

For now, your best and… well… only bet is hitting up your local movie theater. You can find a showing of The Odyssey, which is now playing nationwide in theaters, via Fandango.

Is The Odyssey Available To Stream?

Nope. The Odyssey isn’t currently available to stream online.

When Will The Odyssey Be Streaming on VOD?

The Odyssey doesn’t have an official streaming release date, but due to the film’s massive popularity, it’s almost certainly going to be a few months until it’s available to buy on VOD.

For instance, back in 2023, Oppenheimer was released theatrically in July and wasn’t available to purchase on VOD until November. We’re expecting a similar timetable for The Odyssey. While the movie may drop on VOD earlier than expected, our best guess is that it’ll be available to purchase on Amazon, iTunes, and various other outlets in November of 2026.

Where Will The Odyssey Be Available To Stream After Its VOD Release Date?

The Odyssey is a Universal release, so it will most likely find its way to Peacock. As Decider’s Anna Menta reports, Oppenheimer went to Peacock about seven months after its theatrical release. If The Odyssey follows a similar schedule, it could find its way to Peacock around February 2027.

Peacock Price Info:

Peacock currently offers two subscription types: Premium with ads and Premium Plus ad-free. Peacock Premium costs $10.99/month, while Premium Plus costs $16.99/month.

You can save a bit by subscribing to one of Peacock’s annual plans, which give you 12 months for the price of 10. These cost either $109.99 with ads or $169.99 without ads.

Peacock Premium Plus is also available to subscribe to via Prime Video with a seven-day free trial that you can’t get by subscribing directly on Peacock.

The Odyssey is now playing nationwide in theaters.
