NYC under flash flood warning as city could be soaked by up to 2 inches of rain per hour

New York City was walloped by heavy rain during Monday’s morning commute — as the city was placed under a flash flood warning.

The flood warning will remain through this evening as New Yorkers could see rain pouring down at up to 2 inches per hour, according to the latest forecast from the National Weather Service.

New York City was walloped by heavy rain during Monday’s morning commute.

The precipitation “will cause flooding in the city, including on highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other poor drainage areas and low-lying spots,” New York City officials warned.
