The Angels traded right-handed pitcher Jose Soriano to the Blue Jays on Monday morning ahead of the MLB trade deadline, The Post’s Jon Heyman confirmed.

Los Angeles received Double-A shortstop Arjun Nimmala, Double-A outfielder Eddie Micheletti and Rookie Ball pitcher Angel Rivero.

It is a surprising move from the Blue Jays, who appeared to be going into seller’s mode after trading away starter Kevin Gausman to the Cubs on Sunday.

The Blue Jays are 52-60 and 4 1/2 games out of the final AL wild-card spot after losing to the Dodgers in the World Series last season.

Soriano was scratched from his scheduled start against the Brewers on Saturday night, to ensure he would stay healthy ahead of an anticipated deal.

Soriano leaves Los Angeles amid what has been the best season of his big-league career. He is 9-6 with a career-best 3.29 ERA, to go along with 127 strikeouts in 123 innings pitched (22 starts).

Soriano had a stellar start to the season, posting a 5-1 record with a 0.84 ERA in May. This was enough to earn him AL Pitcher of the Month honors.

Soriano hasn’t been as effective lately, amassing a 4.50 ERA in his last seven starts. But Toronto clearly thought enough of him to believe he’s worth what they gave the Angels in return for his services.

Soriano has two more years of team control after the 2026 season, which also made him an appealing trade candidate.

Soriano’s final start for the Angels was against the Giants on July 26, when he threw five scoreless innings and picked up a win.
