Good news for people who starting celebrating spooky season in August: The new Evil Dead movie, Evil Dead Burn, comes to digital platforms to buy and rent tomorrow.

Evil Dead Burn is a sequel to the previous reboot films, 2013’s Evil Dead and 2023’s Evil Dead Rise. Like those two films before it, Evil Dead Burn is a “standalone sequel,” meaning you don’t need to have seen any of the other movies in order to have your pants scared off by this film. It’s all based on Sam Raimi’s original independent horror cult classic from 1981, The Evil Dead. Raimi, who produced the reboot films, hired French director Sébastien Vaniček to helm this sixth film, after he was impressed by Vaniček’s 2023 directorial debut, Infested.

Evil Dead Burn stars Souheila Yacoub as a widow named Alice, who joins her late husband’s family in a remote, secluded location. That turns out to be a terrible idea, given that her in-laws start slowly turning into “Deadites,” aka the demonic bad guys of this franchise. We know fans don’t want to miss it, but before you drop $25 to watch the new Evil Dead movie at home, you should know that we expect to see Evil Dead Burn streaming on HBO Max before the end of the year.

Where to watch the Evil Dead Burn 2026 movie on streaming:

Evil Dead Burn 2026 will be available to buy or rent on digital platforms on Tuesday, August 4 at 12 a.m. Eastern Time (which is also 9 p.m. Pacific Time on August 3). You’ll be able to buy and rent digitally on Amazon Prime, Apple TV, Fandango At Home, and more. The price may vary depending on which platform you use to purchase the film, but on Amazon Prime the movie will cost $24.99 to buy, and $19.99 to rent. If you rent the movie, you’ll have 48 hours to view after hitting “play.” You can also purchase a two-movie bundle of Evil Dead Rise and Evil Dead Burn for $29.99 on Amazon Prime.

The Evil Dead Burn movie will also release on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD on September 22, 2026. Both the digital and physical releases of the Evil Dead Burn movie will come with bonus features, including making-of featurettes about the film’s big one-shot sequence and a behind-the-scenes look at the stunts and special effects.

Evil Dead Burn is not yet available on a subscription-based streaming service, but we do expect to see the Evil Dead Burn movie streaming on HBO Max, free to HBO Max subscribers eventually, because Evil Dead Burn is a Warner Bros. movie, and HBO Max is the streamer owned by Warner Bros.

When will the Evil Dead Burn movie be streaming free on HBO Max?

You might see Evil Dead Burn streaming free (to subscribers) on HBO Max around early September 2026.

All the new WB theatrical movies end up streaming on HBO Max, though the wait period has varied by title. Lee Cronin’s The Mummy, for example, was released on digital about one month after opening in theaters, and began streaming on HBO Max about two-and-a-half months after it was released in theaters. If  Evil Dead Burn follows a similar release pattern, you may see Evil Dead Burn 2026 streaming on HBO Max around late September 2026, presumably after the DVD release date on September 22.

But that’s pure speculation. The Warner Bros. home releases have varied by title. In the meantime, you can always watch the Evil Dead Burn movie by buying or renting the movie online.
