Why fans are furious about ‘RHONJ’ star Dolores Catania’s dress for son Frank Jr.’s wedding

Perhaps she was just the bride’s “something blue” …
“The Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Dolores Catania celebrated her son Frank Jr.’s wedding to Nicole Perricho wearing a dress that immediately sparked controversy.
The couple married on August 1 in Portugal’s wine country, telling People they wanted their big day to be “relaxed, elegant and effortlessly romantic.”
The mother of the groom might have taken the “romantic” note a bridge too far, however, by opting for a pale blue gown that photographed as white.
The ruffled, rosette-accented design swiftly inspired a dedicated Reddit thread titled, “Dolores wore white to her son’s wedding.
“Of course she did,” wrote one user, while another echoed, “I mean, I expected nothing less.”
“Personally, I stay away from pale colors like that for weddings,” a third wrote, while a fourth chimed in with, “The least she could do is try to dress subtle and keep a low profile to give the girl her day. But alas, monster in law it is.”
Still more Redditors labeled the look “tacky,” “gross” and “crazy.”
Perricho walked down the aisle wearing a custom gown by White House Bride, while Frank Jr. opted for a light tan suit by Michael Andrews Bespoke NYC.
Dolores, who shared several images from the wedding on Instagram, will soon have her own opportunity to say “I do.”
The 55-year-old reality star has been engaged to Paul “Paulie” Connell since late 2025, when she accepted a 15-carat ring from her beau in the same Apple Store location in New Jersey where the couple had first met five years prior.
