When Will ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ be Streaming?

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is shaping up to be one of the biggest box office hits of the decade. In just its first opening weekend, the movie earned over $932 million worldwide, and $360 million domestically, beating out the record held by 2019’s Avengers: Endgame for the biggest opening weekend of all time. (That said, those numbers have not been adjusted for inflation.)

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton (who also directed Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings movie), with a screenplay written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers (who also wrote the other Holland Spider-Man films), Spider-Man: Brand New Day is the fourth film starring Holland as Peter Parker, aka Spider-Man.

Following the events of the 2021 Spider-Man: No Way Home movie, Peter is dealing with the fallout of the entire world—including his loving girlfriend, MJ (played by Zendaya)—forgetting that he exists. Peter still protects New York City, he just does so anonymously, now. But when Peter’s powers undergo a dangerous new development, it gets harder and harder to go through it alone.

Clearly, people are happy to show up to the theater to watch Spider-Man: Brand New Day. But if you’re waiting to watch Spider-Man: Brand New Day at home, it’s a little unclear when and where the movie will be streaming, thanks to the complicated deals between Sony, Netflix, and Disney when it comes to everyone’s favorite webbed hero. Read on to find out when and where we expect to be able to watch Spider-Man: Brand New Day on streaming.

When will Spider-Man: Brand New Day be available to buy or rent on digital?

You might see Spider-Man: Brand New Day available on premium video-on-demand, to buy or rent, in about three months, around early November 2026.

The last Spider-Man film starring Holland, 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, took about three months to come to digital to buy or rent. We assume Spider-Man: Brand New Day will take at least that long to come to digital, too.

When will Spider-Man: Brand New Day stream for free on Netflix?

You might see Spider-Man: Brand New Day streaming on Netflix around late 2026 or early 2027. The movie will stream on Netflix before streaming on Disney.

Even though this movie is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which is owned by Disney, Sony still has the rights to Spider-Man. (That’s why Sony keeps making all those weird Spider-Man spin-off films, like Madame Web and Kraven the Hunter, so the studio doesn’t lose the rights to the character that it bought in 1999, and now “lends” Peter Parker to Disney’s Marvel for the MCU movies. This movie’s box office payout makes that deal seem worth it!)

Therefore, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is being distributed in theaters by Sony, and Sony has an output deal with Netflix, which sends Sony movies to Netflix for the “Pay 1” window—aka the window of time after the movie is released on digital to buy and rent. So after the movie is released on digital to buy and rent, Spider-Man: Brand New Day will stream on Netflix.

Most Sony movies comes to Netflix about 4 months after opening in theaters. If Spider-Man: Brand New Day follows that same release strategy, that would mean that Spider-Man: Brand New Day would stream on Netflix around the very end of November 2026, or early December 2026.

That said, because Spider-Man: Brand New Day is shaping up to be a massive box office hit, and because Sony might want to make more money in digital sales, it might take longer than that for the movie to hit Netflix—closer to early 2027.

When will Spider-Man: Brand New Day stream for free on Disney Plus?

You might see Spider-Man: Brand New Day streaming on Disney+ around April 2027.

Right now, Disney has a deal with Sony that gives them the rights to stream the Sony 2026 movies in the “Pay 2” window, meaning the window of time following the movie’s first release on streaming. (Which, in the case of Spider-Man, is Netflix.) The “Pay 1” window can vary, but is usually at least four months long, which would mean that the earliest you would would see Spider-Man: Brand New Day streaming on Disney+ would be around early April 2027—aka four months after it streams on Netflix.

Disney+ offers a number of subscription options, so you can find the one that works for you. With ads, a subscription costs $11.99/month; without ads, it’s $18.99/month or $189.99/year.

There are also Disney+ bundles with Hulu, HBO Max, and ESPN+, so you can subscribe to up to three services at once and save over 40% every month. The bundles are available in a few different configurations, starting at $11.99/month for Disney+ and Hulu with ads, and going up to $32.99/month for Disney+, Hulu, and Max ad-free.

But this is all speculation. If you want to see Spider-Man: Brand New Day ASAP, you can catch the movie in theaters.
