Sterling Point stars Daniel Quinn-Toye and Jacob Whiteduck-Lavoie might not know what’s about to hit them once their new YA drama hits Prime Video.

The two actors serve as the base of the primary love triangle in Megan Park‘s coming-of-age series, topped by Ella Rubin‘s Annie Jacobson, a 17-year-old living with her twin brother Connor (Keen Ruffalo) and her adoptive father Steven (Jay Duplass).

Sterling Point focuses on Annie visiting the show’s namesake, a Canadian island that she inherited from her late, estranged grandfather, where she is surprised to learn she may have more family than she once believed. But all the while, Annie finds herself pulled between two love interests: Whiteduck-Lavoie’s Ellis, a Sterling Point native working for his father (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) at the marina, and Quinn-Toye’s Rory, a former childhood friend of Annie’s who comes from real estate money and spends summer on the island.

While fans can ultimately be the judge of who they believe to be the better suitor on August 5, DECIDER asked Whiteduck-Lavoie and Quinn-Toye if they are prepared for the impending ship wars that might arise, considering the show is joining the streamer that is the home of The Summer I Turned Pretty and its infamous Belly-Conrad-Jeremiah love triangle.

“Oh my God, am I prepared? No, not at all,” Whiteduck-Lavoie teased. “I don’t know what to expect. I hope it won’t be, you know, too crazy, but I don’t know. I really don’t know what to expect.”

Quinn-Toye, on the other hand, thinks there’s no contest, already conceding to his co-star.

“I keep saying it, Jacob is like the most handsome guy I’ve ever seen in my life,” he said. “I genuinely don’t think there is like a [competition]. It’s so funny to me to the idea that there would be two different factions off of it. It’s just, come on. Even I’m an Ellis fan. How can you not be?”

Who is Ellis? Meet Jacob Whiteduck-Lavoie:

Ellis meets Annie just after touching down in Toronto, where he takes her via seaplane to Sterling Point. A good friend to Ramona (Amélie Hoeferle), Oona (Bo Bragason), Sully (Nikko Angelo Hinayo), and Maple (Mabel Strachan) and a trusty (but sneaky) employee to his father Joe, Ellis is tired of dealing with the snooty and privileged summer tourists. However, he immediately sparks a connection with Annie.

The 33-year-old actor starred in the Canadian hockey series First Line (or Premier Trio). He told DECIDER last month that he was excited to check out The Odyssey in IMAX, and that he was also enjoying The Studio on Apple TV.

Who is Rory? Meet Daniel Quinn-Toye:

When we first meet Rory, we learn that he and Annie have a history. The two grew up together in New York City, though they have not been in touch since middle school. A former piano prodigy starting at Columbia in the fall, Rory is thrilled to reunite with Annie, and is not afraid to show his interest in her.

When DECIDER caught up with the 23-year-old Scottish actor last month, who appeared in the Brendan Fraser-led movie Pressure, he said he was watching Widow’s Bay on Apple TV, and praised HBO‘s DTF St. Louis as “one of the best seasons of television” he had ever seen.
