WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. — An excited 11-year-old girl hung a sign over the fence at training camp Wednesday asking for a Giants football as her only birthday present.

Charlie from Virginia got that wish fulfilled plus the gift that seemingly every other Giants fan in the crowd wants: Odell Beckham Jr.’s attention and autograph as the team went through warmups.

There’s a different, louder buzz energizing the practice fields at The Greenbrier resort when Beckham makes a play than when most others do.

And Wednesday’s practice — his second straight primarily running with the starters — was filled with Beckham highlights, from a juggling catch in a one-on-one matchup against Jevon Holland to a weaving catch-and-run to a deep grab down the sideline.

“Everybody likes to talk about, ‘Is he going to be this, that?’ ” Beckham said. “And I’m like, ‘LeBron James used to take off before the free-throw line, and now he’s taking off with his foot right in front of it. He’s got a different game, but he’s still playing at a high level.’ I believe that I can play at a high level.”

Beckham already has proven that his Giants reunion isn’t just about soaking in nostalgia. He was making plays with a body that looked spryer, for a third straight day in pads and during the longest practice of camp, than when he last played for the 2024 Dolphins.

“Yesterday’s touchdown doesn’t win you today’s game,” Beckham said. “I feel like I came out [Tuesday] and I was like, ‘I want to have my best day,’ and I feel like I had a good day. Some things to work on, and I was like, ‘I want to have an even better day [Wednesday].’ ”

Head coach John Harbaugh called on Beckham to deliver Tuesday’s daily “Wise Words” during a morning team meeting.

“He’s working hard and he got some balls that came his way and he made some great plays,” Harbaugh said. “He addressed the team, and he did a great job with that. So, maybe that was the football gods right there. You never know.”

Beckham began training camp with the second-team receivers, gaining separation on routes but not drawing targets.

It was the kind of spot in which his younger self would throw up a hand to make a frustrated point, but he now quietly runs back for the next rep like anyone else humbled by trying to make the cut.

“I kind of like it,” Beckham said. “My boy texted me, he’s like, ‘This is where you thrive.’ When I have pressure, I live for it. If we were just messing around, playing H-O-R-S-E, if we’re not playing for $100, I might lose. But you put the $100 on there, and then, hypothetically … I want to step up to the big of the moment. I definitely put pressure on myself to make plays. I’m all for competition. I’ve always been like that. I feel like I rise to the occasion.”

Beckham pointed out that he had 35 catches for 565 yards on 465 offensive snaps under Harbaugh with the 2023 Ravens. If he doubled his workload and stats with more opportunities — wishful thinking, perhaps — then no one would be questioning what he has left in the tank.

“I feel like I’m getting better with repetition,” Beckham said. “Unfortunately I’m one of those people who has to touch the stove to know that it’s hot and to not touch it again, so I learn from a mistake and it’s like, ‘All right, that’s something that I corrected.’ ”

Giants tight end Isaiah Likely was Beckham’s teammate in 2023.

“He’s looked like O.,” Likely said. “Just seeing him really be able to understand the position he’s in. When the young guys ask him how he did it the right way when he was at the top of the top, prime Odell. And then obviously, the dark-days Odell, which he’ll tell you as well. And really just how he stayed the course and just honed in and understanding that when he’s out here, he’s giving you the best version of himself.”

Beckham said the crowd support eight hours from home is giving him “a lot of juice.” But he’s not back with the Giants — his self-drawn counterpart James just spurned a second Cavaliers reunion to join the 76ers — for them or for his doubters.

“If this comes off selfish, sorry, but this is for me,” Beckham said. “This is to prove to myself. It’s never really been to prove it to others, but it’s always fun when you can prove it to others. But this is for me, this is for my son. In our household, we never give up, you know what I’m saying? No matter what it is, you’re going to finish what you started.”
