DSA gov. nominee Francesca Hong is the turkey who wants to ruin Thanksgiving, then Wisconsin, then America

Francesca Hong is running to be the next governor of Wisconsin, but she can’t decide if she wants to be the Grinch who stole Thanksgiving, too.
Thanksgiving? We’re talking about Thanksgiving in August?
That’s because the Democratic primary frontrunner and DSA darling is embroiled in a turkey tempest of her own making.
In 2020, she tweeted that we should stick a carving knife in the national holiday of gratitude because it was “celebrating colonialism.”
Earlier this week, Hong — who owned a restaurant before she was elected to the state assembly — was asked about her six-year-old tweet on CNN.
She served up a mealy mouthed answer, saying the holiday is “incredibly painful for many people in our communities.”
How miserable.
Then, by Wednesday, the socialist lunatic did a U-turn so hard it left tire marks on the road.
In an interview with Politico, she proclaimed, “My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving…I don’t want to cancel it. I actually love it.”
All she was missing was a pilgrim hat made of construction paper.
Hong knew she had to run back her bizarre take.
Even establishment Democrats like David Axelrod mocked her on X, writing, “It’s answers like these than cause many to think if this chef wins the gubernatorial primary in WI, Ds may be cooked.”
Indeed, it was as absurd and preposterous as her original, now-deleted tweet, which set all this off.
“Cancel Thanksgiving,” she wrote. “Should have done this in 1621. If it takes a worldwide pandemic for us to realize we should stop celebrating colonialism and the original superspreader event that killed Indigenous folx and women so be it.”
The social media post was a perfect fossil from the peak woke era, complete with its insane gender-neutral spelling of “folks.”
Except her anti-American views aren’t buried deep in the ground with a bunch of other bones.
They’re ready to surface with a good hard rain — or a win at the ballot box.
They were reflected in her CNN interview, where she invoked her old kitchen job in an attempt to make her Thanksgiving slander more palatable.
“I’m a chef, and one of the first meals that I made that was for the community when I was 16 was a Thanksgiving meal,” she said, adding that her “hospitality background” is a “good thing.”
However, “Thanksgiving is also a time that’s incredibly painful for many people in our communities…I think my background as a chef will actually help me become a better governor that’s able to bring more people to the table.”
Sadly for the people of Wisconsin, it’s a table she clearly wants empty on the last Thursday of November. I can assume that also means no football and no precious family gatherings.
It’s fitting. The DSA wants to strip our society, government and culture down to its studs, so they can build their own socialist utopia.
It’s not just Turkey Day.
In 2020, she also went after cops, writing on social media that “police exist to uphold white supremacy” and “I support defunding the police as a first step towards abolishing the police.”
And now she claims, “My views have only become stronger in that I’m serious about public safety and I will not abolish the police.”
Sure.
If someone is so radicalized they want to ban American holidays and abolish the police, they don’t evolve. They attempt to change the conversation because their illiberal views don’t hold up in the light of day. And certainly not in 2026.
When it comes to disavowing old absurd tweets, she can follow Zohran Mamdani’s lead. He regularly mocked and smeared cops on social media while calling to defund them, but he managed it more deftly.
However, he is simply far more skilled as a politician, therefore able to sweep his radicalism into the dustbin with his smug smile and theatre kid overconfidence.
Hong doesn’t have his political chops, so she’s stumbling while trying to clean up this mess.
These surging DSA candidates can pretend they are just looking to make things affordable for the working class.
But last week, their party co-chair, Megan Romer, appeared on Fox News and explicitly laid out the party platform. They want to abolish borders, prisons and the Senate.
Thanksgiving? That’s nothing.
