Mount Etna erupts in stunning display as volcanic activity intensifies

A videographer captured striking footage of lava flowing from a new eruptive vent on Mount Etna in Sicily on August 7. Emilio Messina said the lava emerged from a newly formed fissure about 9,000 feet above sea level and flowed into the Valle del Bove. The footage also showed explosive activity at Etna’s Voragine crater, highlighting the volcano’s ongoing activity.
