As the sun begins to set on Summer 2026, fans can find comfort in the stunning, summery views featured in Sterling Point.

The Prime Video series sees twins Annie (Ella Rubin) and Connor Jacobson (Keen Ruffalo) discover that they have inherited property in Canada from their late, estranged grandfather, Gordon. However, they aren’t the only ones entitled to the land. The siblings learn that their adoptive mother had a biological child of her own, Ramona (Amélie Hoeferle).

Fans might be curious as to where the beautiful backdrop to this exceptional, original coming-of-age drama from series creator Megan Park exploring sisterhood actually is, and if Sterling Point actually exists. Sterling Point specifically is not a real place, but Muskoka, a lake region in Central Ontario, is in fact real. According to TV Insider, a lot of Sterling Point was filmed about two hours north of Ontario in the Muskoka Lakes region, where Park also shot her 2024 film My Old Ass.

However, that’s not the only movie that Sterling Point‘s filming locations have ties to. While chatting with Park about the Camp Rock-themed birthday that Connor throws for himself in Sterling Point Episode 5, “I’m Not a Shots Girl Either,” and its timeliness ahead of the premiere of Camp Rock 3, Park called the reference a “happy accident.”

“We also didn’t realize that we filmed some of the outdoor stuff at the exact spot that Camp Rock was filmed at, which was thrilling, obviously, for us,” Park said. “We were all very excited about that. But no, all that was happening at the same time we were filming. Somebody—I think [EP] Josh [Schwartz]—there was an article that dropped and he sent in the group chat. He was like, ‘Well, here we go. This is perfect timing.’ But yeah, that all worked out perfectly. Can’t wait for Camp Rock 3. So excited.”

The Camp Rock of it all was not the only serendipitous pop culture reference in Sterling Point that happened to tie into where the Prime Video series was shot. In Sterling Point Episode 1, “But I Just Took An Ambien,” Oona (Bo Bragason) tells Annie about the time that she made eye contact with Kaia Gerber across the lake. While Sterling Point happened to drop on Aug. 5, the same day that Gerber’s new series The Shards premiered on Hulu, Park said that Oona’s Kaia Gerber sighting would notbe too far-fetched of a possibility in real life.

“Well, Kaia actually does have a place up in Muskoka,” Park said. “So, that was like a true homage to [her]. You could paddle past her house and potentially wave. Who knows? That could have totally happened.”
