Jaxson Dart cooks Giants first-round pick for touchdown in highlight of strong day
Observations from Giants training camp on Wednesday
Dart Throwing Darts
Jaxson Dart’s best throw of the day was in 7-on-7 drills to RB Devin Singletary, who cooked LB Arvell Reese on a wheel route and trash-talked on his way to the end zone.
Dart threw a touchdown to Malachi Fields that likely would have been negated by offensive pass interference.
Tipping the Balance
Dart had three passes batted down or tipped in the air, and Jameis Winston had two.
Getting hands up is a point of emphasis for the defensive front seven, creating chances for takeaways.
Caught My Eye
In a 10-minute, back-and-forth period with the score tied 17-17 to end practice, the Giants had five possessions (three for the second-team offense and two for the starters).
The results were four punts — Jordan Stout actually came onto the field to punt with only a snapper and a returner — and a walk-off 62-yard field goal by Dominic Zvada.
Winston led the scoring drive, completing a fourth-down pass, and the offensive players begged John Harbaugh to let Zvada try a field goal beyond his expected range.
