Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump house hunting in celeb hotspot Malibu amid younger brother’s shock Lakers buy
Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump have been house hunting in Malibu, Page Six Hollywood can exclusively reveal — at the same time Kushner’s brother bought the LA Lakers with Bob Iger.
The first daughter and son-in-law were recently spotted, with ample Secret Service in tow, dining at Nobu Malibu. But the power couple weren’t simply in the iconic LA enclave for the famed black cod miso.
We’ve learned that “Javanka” were actually shopping for real estate in the area, and toured several high-end listings currently on the market.
The timing is curious, considering they were house shopping in Malibu the same week that Kushner’s younger bro, Thrive Capital founder Joshua Kushner, shocked the sporting world with his announcement that he was buying the NBA team with the former Disney CEO Iger for $12.5 billion.
It’s unclear what role, if any, the older Kushner might play in the Lakers’ new ownership group. But the Kushner brothers’ business interests have overlapped significantly in the past.
In 2014 they founded Cadre, a financial platform for commercial real estate investing which Yieldstreet acquired in 2024. They were also co-owners of a real estate entity called JK2.
As far as LA neighborhoods go, Malibu would seem to make a lot of sense for Jared and Ivanka. Joshua and his wife, supermodel and entrepreneur Karlie Kloss, bought Harry Gesner’s iconic mid-century modern mansion known as the Wave House near Leo Carrillo State Park, for $29.5 million in 2024.
Malibu has long been a preferred outpost for low-key Hollywood types, but in recent years has seen an uptick of billionaire residents who work in finance and tech.
The couple has been living in Miami for years, after buying a $30 million lot on the high-security island, Indian Creek, known as the “Billionaire’s Bunker,” in 2020. Their neighbors on the island include Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez, Mark Zuckerberg, Tom Brady and Brady’s ex, Gisele Bündchen. (Bezos owns three properties there, including one he scooped up for $90 million in 2024.) The private, guarded and gated Indian Creek even has its own police force for just 29 residences.
Page Six previously reported that former Veep Kamala Harris moved from starry Brentwood to an $8 million mega mansion in Malibu’s celeb-packed Pt. Dume.
Yesterday, Knicks champ Karl-Anthony Towns married Kardashians insider Jordyn Woods in Malibu, in front of guests including Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet, Justin and Hailey Bieber, Jada Pinkett-Smith, Teyana Taylor, Gayle King, Michael B. Jordan, Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor. Guests left the black-tie affair wearing customized swag hoodies that read “Married in 5.” They also had Fanatics party favors and In-N-Out cups, Page Six reported.
A rep for Jared and Ivanka did not comment.
As far as the quickie Lakers sale, Iger told The California Post: “We were involved in pursuing the new franchise in Vegas… And while that happened, it was suggested to us that maybe Mark Walter would be interested in selling his stake in the Lakers. And we immediately decided that given the value of the franchise and the iconic nature of the team, that we would be really smart to pursue it. The deal came together in three days.”
(Billionaire Walter has been part of a reported investigation by federal prosecutors that began months before he struck a $12.5 billion deal to sell the team. Authorities have reportedly been examining accounting and financial transactions involving businesses controlled by Walter — who serves as chief executive of Guggenheim Partners and TWG Group, and who sits atop a web of financial and sports holdings. )
Look for Ivanka and Jared to be courtside at Crypto arena this fall.
