Jaxson Dart’s girlfriend responds after WAG training camp controversy

Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart’s girlfriend, Marissa Ayers, responded to “negative commentary” and “hate online” regarding wives and girlfriends hanging around NFL training camps.

During a recent TikTok video, the model laughed off scrutiny and assured fans that Dart is “locked in” after the pair were spotted having a quiet moment in photos published last week by The Post.

“It’s been so fun because I’ve been able to meet the girls — a lot of the girlfriends, the wives it gives us a chance to meet and bond,” said Ayers, who showed off her “football girlfriend” outfit.

“This week [at training camp] it’s just a little more intimate, so, family, girlfriends, [and] wives… Because I’m seeing comments, and it’s like, ‘Why are the girlfriends there?’

“It’s to bring the families together. It just kind of gives everyone a chance to meet, hang out and bond and just be a part of it. The kids can go and see their dads, it’s so cute.

“They basically practice for 2-3 hours, and you see the players for maybe like 10 minutes… and then they’re back in meetings for the rest of the afternoon and night. It’s not like they’re hanging out. Trust me, they’re locked in.

“It’s a chance for us to be supportive before the season. Just so much hate online and negative commentary around players.”

Dart and Ayers, who were first linked last fall, were all smiles while sitting on the field at Giants training camp on Aug. 10, as seen in photos by The Post.

Before that, Ayers surprised the second-year quarterback at his youth camp.

The pair aren’t the only NFL couple that linked up at training camp.

A clip of Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert and singer Madison Beer, who announced their engagement on July 28, canoodling at training camp made waves online.

Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow and rumored girlfriend Olivia Ponton were seen talking together during a private moment at training camp on Aug. 9.

The viral videos showing players, their families and significant others are part of the NFL’s “helmets-off” marketing campaign, Front Office Sports reported Friday.

“On the league and club level, we’ve engaged our players’ families and loved ones for years,” Ian Trombetta, the NFL’s senior vice president of social and influencer marketing, told FOS. “Whether it’s Training Camp, weekly practice or a major event like the Super Bowl, we look for authentic opportunities to highlight our players and the people who are part of their journey.

“The content is authentic, genuine and relatable, and that’s resonated strongly with women and young fans, who are key growth audiences for the NFL.”

The Giants open the 2026 regular season at home against the Cowboys on Sept. 13.
