LaVar Arrington declares Cowboys winner of Micah Parsons trade: ‘Addition by subtraction’

As a Penn State legend and a former Washington Commanders star, it pained LaVar Arrington to admit it.

But when asked on Thursday who won the trade between the Dallas Cowboys and the Green Bay Packers of fellow Nittany Lions great Micah Parsons, Arrington revealed he was giving the edge to Jerry Jones’ team.

“If you’re saying addition by subtraction, you probably gotta say,” Arrington said while starting to mouth the word “Cowboys,” “I’m not going to say it!”

The franchises consummated the deal one year ago in an absolute stunner.

The Cowboys sent their 26-year-old, four-time Pro Bowler to the Packers in exchange for two first-round picks and defensive lineman Kenny Clark.

Initially, fans thought Dallas had been fleeced, as without Parsons, their defense sunk to the bottom of the league.

But the Cowboys eventually turned the picks into Quinnen Williams and Malachi Lawrence — plus a few others — and Arrington said while out on the Harold & Carole Pump Foundation 26th Anniversary Celebrity Dinner red carpet that was enough for him to give Dallas his vote as the trade’s big winner.

Parsons and the Packers will certainly have opportunities to change Arrington’s mind soon. The pass rusher is expected to return from knee surgery in time for Green Bay’s Week 6 matchup against Dallas at Lambeau Field.
