Andy Pages didn’t show any pain initially.

But after getting drilled in his left hand by a 100 mph fastball on Friday night, the Dodgers center fielder was eventually forced to exit the game a few innings later, raising alarm bells for the All-Star center fielder.

In the bottom of the third inning in the Dodgers’ game against the Pittsburgh Pirates, Pages was struck square in the back of his hand by a 100.2 mph sinker from Pirates right-hander Bubba Chandler.

At first, the 25-year-old slugger tried to play the painful moment off.

He immediately walked out of the batter’s box, quickly removed his batting gloves, then walked assuredly to first base as manager Dave Roberts and a trainer came out to check on him.

Pages tried to shoo them away, then insisted he was OK as they checked out his hand.

After a few moments, they retreated while Pages stayed in as a baserunner.

Pages then took the field defensively for the top half of the fourth inning, raising hopes he might’ve actually be alright.

Alas, when the Dodgers took the field for the fifth, Kiké Hernández went jogging out to Pages’ spot in center, as he headed to the clubhouse for further evaluation.

No more information on Pages’ injury or prognosis was immediately available.
