Woman dies after plunging her SUV into Long Island swimming pool
A woman died Friday after losing control of her SUV and crashing into a backyard pool on Long Island, police said.
The unidentified 40-year-old driver left a path of destruction in her wake, striking a tree and a parked car before plummeting into a swimming pool in Hewlett, Nassau County, officials said.
Authorities believe the woman was removed from the 2023 GMC SUV prior to their arrival at the home on Elinor Road near Woodside Drive.
It was not clear where the woman was driving to when the vehicle started careening.
A representative of the Nassau County Police Department told The Post that Officers attempted life-saving measures before she was transported to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
