When Does The Next Episode of ‘Lanterns’ Come Out?

HBO‘s new Sunday night drama Lanterns is a gritty and grounded adaptation of DC’s Green Lantern comics. Green Lanterns are kind of like cosmic cops, tasked with looking out for various sectors of the universe. Their power comes directly from their rings, which grant them the power to conjure anything from their imagination on a moment’s notice.

Kyle Chandler stars as Hal Jordan, Earth’s very first Green Lantern, chosen for his pure lack of fear. Aaron Pierre plays John Stewart, a former marine and sniper who has been basically training to be Hal’s replacement for his whole life. Now that Hal is getting older, the Guardians have asked him to train John as his backup. However, Hal chafes at this order and gives the younger man grief at every turn.

In the first episode of Lanterns, we followed Hal and John as they dug into a murder mystery in the heartland of America. For some reason, a group of disguised aliens were gunned down at a high school football game in Rushville, Nebraska. The more Hal and John dig into the case, the more confusing details they unearth.

Lanterns Episode 1 ends with a time jump to our present day, 2026, where an older John has returned to Rushville, where Hal has just been murdered. Want to know who killed Hal Jordan and why? You’ll have to keep watching Lanterns to find out.
