Jets have only one QB question left for Giants preseason showdown
Three things to watch for in the Jets’ preseason game against the Giants at MetLife Stadium:
The only quarterback question now is whether Brady Cook or Bailey Zappe can stick around on the practice squad.
It’s incredible to think that Cook started four games at the end of last season and now he’s their fourth quarterback.
2. It will be interesting to see what the Jets do at wide receiver on cutdown day Sunday.
Arian Smith, a fourth-round pick in 2025, has had drop issues, but he is a good special teams player and has speed.
Tim Patrick is a veteran who signed with the team this offseason but has done very little to impress in camp.
Malik McClain is an undrafted free agent who has flashed in camp and can play special teams.
The Jets likely will keep two of the three.
3. Cornerback Jordan Clark has been all over the field in camp practices and in preseason games, but it’s going to be tough to keep him on the roster.
Clark is a nickel corner, and the Jets already have D’Angelo Ponds and Jarvis Brownlee.
Still, Clark has impressed and maybe he can do something Friday night to convince the team to make the math work.
