We live in a truly Orwellian world when the mayor of New York City sheds tears for the death of a madman who was jailed for hacking an innocent victim to death with a meat cleaver (“Zo sheds tears for a monster,” Aug. 28).

That the killer was only able to commit that murder because he was mystifyingly freed on parole for other violent crimes renders Mayor Mamdani’s sympathies even more reprehensible.

In his world, everything is upside-down: The police are criminals, violent gang members are innocents, Hamas murderers are freedom fighters, Jews are hated oppressors, America has a racist dictatorship and Russia, China, Iran and Cuba are utopian models of idyllic political and economic existence.

So, Mamdani thought it appropriate to send condolences to a murderer who died in jail. Next, he will probably send letters of support to the terrorists at Guantánamo who orchestrated the murder of innocent civilians on 9/11.

Mamdani will go down as the worst mayor in the history of NYC.

Mamdani is “deeply saddened” by the death of a homicidal maniac and repeat offender.

Well, I’m deeply saddened that Mamdani is the mayor of New York City. Anyone who voted for him should be sending apology letters to Jose Miranda’s family. And, by the way, the best way to avoid dying in a jail cell is to not commit crimes.

The mayor’s obligation is to protect law-abiding citizens of the city, not be the mourner-in-chief for criminals. Why that needs to be said at all is a mystery.

Mamdani should run for mayor in “Bizarro world”: He sends condolences to a killer who passed away in jail and wants to defund police and empty prisons. We don’t need a psycho for a mayor. Please vote this jackass out of office.

In his expression of grief for the murderer who died, Mamdani had to make sure that a negative comment about Rikers was part of his narrative.

It’s no secret he wants Rikers closed. Of course he has no idea as to where to put the inmates, except perhaps releasing them back among the unsuspecting population for more innocents to be killed.

The Issue: A gang of masked vagrants terrorizing young girls at a Meatpacking District soccer field.

A gang of men sexually harassing little girls — I don’t understand why this is allowed (“Striking fear on pitch,” Aug. 23).

Citizens, especially children, should be able to play soccer without being subjected to total obscenity. This sounds like very dangerous behavior that can only escalate.

When will enough be enough? The people who voted for this to continue are now reaping what they’ve sown.

It’s all fun and games with these unhinged sewer dwellers until one of them physically attacks some young children. “Mental illness” is echoed ad nauseam but nothing is ever accomplished.

Stop allowing our quality of life to be destroyed by a handful of mentally unstable individuals. Remember quality of life back when Rudy Giuliani and Michael Bloomberg were mayor?
