After premiering on Hulu in late July and quickly climbing the charts thanks to powerhouse performances from Emmy Rossum or Lola Petticrew — as well as a dynamite script and story idea from Liz Meriwether — the series wrapped its first season this week and left fans desperately in need of another fix. Especially after that shocking Episode 8 reveal that Catherine (Petticrew) is the one who killed Isabel. Who wouldn’t want more episodes after a twist like that?!

But, as so often is the case with TV shows these days, will there be another season and will it even be coming anytime soon? Keep reading to find out everything we know about Furious Season 2.

Will There Be A Furious Season 2?

You bet there will be! Just a week or so before Hulu dropped the showstopping Season 1 finale, the streaming service announced that the series will return for another go-around.

When Will Furious Season 2 Release?

Unfortunately, there is no current release date for the second season of Furious, but we can hope that Meriwether and Rossum — who also serves as EP — can get a story together quickly. The earliest we would predict to see Furious Season 2 is summer 2027 and hopefully no later than summer 2028, at the latest.

Who Will Return For Furious Season 2?

That part is also up in the air. We can reasonably assume that Furious Season 2 will see the return of the core cast, including Rossum, Scoot McNairy, and Quincy Tyler Bernstine, although seeing as Lola Petticrew’s particular storyline seems to have wrapped up, we’re hesitant to say they will be returning. Things are also in a state of limbo with Marshall (Jake Lacy), who ended Season 1 by getting a medal for his bravery (oh, brother) while also sitting in a wheelchair after being shot. Is he permanently paralyzed? Maybe we will find out in Season 2!

What Have Liz Meriwether and Emmy Rossum Said About Furious Season 2?

Aside from saying repeatedly that they wanted a second season prior to the show’s renewal, both Meriwether and Rossum have spoken about what Season 2 could look like and what they would hope to achieve by returning to these characters. In an interview with DECIDER, the series creator said she sees the broad picture with the team, while Rossum is thinking about how the personal changes her own character underwent will play into the future of this story.

“This show is really about this C-20 group and the FBI and them tackling these kind of big, complicated cases, so, I mean, I would see a Season 2 as kind of another big, complicated, juicy case,” Meriwether shared, adding of the Season 1 finale, “I think, hopefully, it starts a lot of conversations and makes you once again uncomfortable and a little like shaken up. That was the goal with the show, just to never let the audience get too comfortable in a certain frame of mind about a character. So the ending — sometimes you got to just like go where it takes you and this felt like that feeling. It was like, ‘Okay we’re gonna take this all the way to the edge of what this character can be and do.’”

To that, Rossum added, “I think Alice and Catherine are people who have been underestimated and are both feeling somewhat powerless, even though they’re on these missions for justice and vengeance. And when Catherine later on says that killing someone is power, it’s taking power back, I think that that changes something in the way that Alice thinks about what Catherine is doing.”
