2 Police Officers Among Multiple People Injured in Minneapolis Shooting

Multiple people, including two police officers, were injured in a shooting in downtown Minneapolis on Wednesday afternoon, officials said.

The shooting was reported near 15 East Grant Street, in the area of an apartment building about a half-block from the Minneapolis Convention Center. The area is in the Loring Park neighborhood on the south side of downtown Minneapolis, according to local news reports.

City officials urged people to avoid the area.

Aerial footage broadcast by KARE-TV of Minneapolis and St. Paul showed a large police presence at the intersection where the shooting occurred.

Gov. Tim Walz of Minnesota said on X that his “public safety team is responding to a shooting that took place downtown Minneapolis this afternoon.”

“State officials are on the ground to support local law enforcement,” he said, “and we will share more information as it becomes available.”

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
