Eddie Horniman’s criminal empire isn’t going anywhere just yet.

Netflix has renewed The Gentlemen for Season 3, meaning fans of Guy Ritchie‘s stylish crime series already have another chapter to look forward to. The renewal came ahead of the Season 2 premiere, which gives the series a fairly unusual luxury for a Netflix show: We already know Eddie and Susie’s story isn’t ending here.

So when can viewers expect The Gentlemen Season 3? Who will be back? And what about those rumors that Meghan Markle could join the cast?

Will there be a Season 3 of The Gentlemen on Netflix?

Yes. The Gentlemen will return for Season 3.

Netflix announced the renewal in August, ahead of the second season’s arrival. Guy Ritchie, who created the series and executive produces, is also returning to continue the story.

“The ambition of The Gentlemen has accelerated, the world has expanded, and the consequences carry weight,” Ritchie said in a statement announcing the renewal. “A third season felt inevitable, and I’m looking forward to pushing the boundaries of it further.”

That’s about as clear a signal as fans could ask for. The first season premiered in March 2024 and quickly became one of Netflix’s more successful British series, making a second season an easy call for the streamer. Now, Eddie Horniman’s increasingly complicated life of crime has at least one more season ahead of it.

When will The Gentlemen Season 3 premiere?

That’s the big question Netflix hasn’t answered yet.

The streamer has confirmed that Season 3 is happening, but there’s currently no release date—or even a production timeline—for the new episodes.

Season 2 arrived on September 3, 2026, with all eight episodes released at once. Given that the renewal was announced before the second season even premiered, though, production can move forward without fans having to wait for Netflix to decide the show’s fate.

In other words: Don’t expect Season 3 anytime soon, but there’s also no reason to think the wait means the series is in trouble.

What will The Gentlemen Season 3 be about?

Netflix hasn’t revealed a Season 3 storyline, and considering how much of the show’s appeal comes from its twists and surprises, that’s probably for the best.

There is, however, one interesting clue about where the series could go next.

Theo James, who plays Eddie, told People that the creative team already has an idea of the bigger direction for Season 3. The details are still being worked out, but James said the plan is to expand the show’s world and take the characters to other countries.

That’s a potentially significant change for the series. The Gentlemen began with Eddie inheriting his family’s estate and discovering that the property was part of a massive cannabis operation run by Susie Glass and her family. By Season 2, Eddie is no longer simply trying to figure out how to get out of the criminal underworld. He’s learned how to operate within it—and, increasingly, how to profit from it.

Season 2 also expands the story internationally, with Eddie and Susie getting involved with dangerous new players in Italy.

If James’ comments are any indication, Season 3 could take that idea even further.

Who will be in The Gentlemen Season 3?

Netflix hasn’t announced the Season 3 cast yet, but Theo James and Kaya Scodelario would seem like safe bets to return as Eddie Horniman and Susie Glass.

James’ Eddie has become the center of the series, while Scodelario’s Susie remains his closest—and sometimes most unpredictable—partner in the criminal business.

Ray Winstone‘s Bobby Glass is another major presence in the series, although the character’s Season 3 status will depend on where the story picks up after Season 2. The show’s ensemble has also included Daniel Ings, Joely Richardson and Vinnie Jones.

Season 2 introduced several new faces, including Hugh Bonneville, Maya Jama, Michele Morrone, Benedetta Porcaroli and Sergio Castellitto. It’s too early to say which of those characters will carry over into the third season.

Naturally, Netflix is keeping those details close to the vest for now.

Is Meghan Markle joining The Gentlemen Season 3?

This is the question that has generated the most attention since news of the Season 3 renewal broke.

Meghan Markle has reportedly been in talks for a role in The Gentlemen, although her casting has not been officially confirmed.

The rumors picked up steam after Netflix’s U.K. scripted chief, Manda Levin, was asked about Markle’s potential involvement at the Edinburgh TV Festival. Her response—“All bets are off”—did little to put the speculation to rest.

But Theo James isn’t exactly treating the rumor as a done deal.

When People asked James about Markle potentially joining the series, he responded with a joke of his own, saying Sarah Ferguson, better known as Fergie, was joining the show and would play his love interest.

James was eventually more direct about the Markle reports, describing them as “mainly a lot of hot air.”

So, for now, Markle’s Gentlemen casting remains firmly in the rumor category.

The possibility is notable because it would mark a major return to scripted acting for Markle, who stepped away from Suits in 2018. Whether the Gentlemen role actually comes together remains to be seen.

What happened in The Gentlemen Season 2?

Season 2 picks up after Eddie has settled into his new reality as a criminal businessman.

The reluctant aristocrat from Season 1 has become much more comfortable with his position, and he and Susie are looking to grow the operation. That ambition brings them into contact with new enemies and new opportunities, including the Italian underworld.

The expanded setting gives the second season a somewhat different flavor while keeping the dark humor, violence and elaborate criminal schemes that made the first season such a hit.

It also leaves the door open for the story to keep getting bigger.

And that appears to be exactly what Ritchie and James have in mind for Season 3.

Season 2 consists of eight episodes, all of which are now available to watch.

As for Season 3, there’s nothing to stream yet—but unlike a lot of Netflix shows, at least fans don’t have to wonder whether the story will continue. Eddie Horniman will be back.
