“CBS Mornings” anchor Gayle King was stunned when a juror in the high-profile Lindsay Clancy trial revealed the only holdout was the lone black person on the panel.

During a discussion of the demographic breakdown of the 12-person panel, made up of nine women and three men, that failed to reach a unanimous verdict in the murder trial, juror Paula Devlin explained how 11 members of the panel were white and just one was a person of color.

“Was the person of color a woman or a man?” King, 71, interjected during the interview Friday.

When Devlin confirmed the juror in question was a man, King asked, stammering over her words, “Is the holdout juror… a person of c– a black man?”

Devlin answered in the affirmative, and King asked again, “a black man is the holdout juror?” to which Devlin replied “yes.”

Visibly rattled, King said, “Woah, I have to sit with that for just a second,” and took a pause before continuing the interview.
