Bears fans and fantasy football general managers will be happy to know that D’Andre Swift isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

The Bears agreed to a three-year, $33.75 million contract extension with Swift on Friday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The deal includes $27.5 million guaranteed and keeps the veteran running back in Chicago through the 2029 season.

It’s a significant commitment to Swift and a heavy investment in the running back position, which is always something that’ll garner attention in today’s NFL.

Swift, 27, was entering the final season of the three-year, $24 million contract he signed with Chicago in 2024.

But after his best season in the NFL, the Bears are committing to Swift, even after selecting Kyle Monangai — who had a strong rookie campaign — in the seventh round of last year’s draft.

In 2025, Swift rushed for a career-high 1,087 yards and nine touchdowns on 223 carries, averaging 4.9 yards per attempt. He also impacted the passing game, catching 34 receptions for 299 yards and another touchdown while being a check-down option for the blossoming Caleb Williams.

Monangai recorded 169 carries for 783 rushing yards and five touchdowns on the ground, while adding 18 catches for 164 yards and a receiving TD.

The Bears finished third in the NFL with 2,456 rushing yards last season, led by Swift and Monangai, en route to their first NFC North title since 2018.

Last season, the Bears also won their first playoff game since 2010, coming on top in a dramatic 31-27 wild-card round encounter with the rival Packers before falling to the Rams in an equally heart-stopping 20-17 overtime game in the divisional round.

Previously, Swift enjoyed stints with the Eagles in 2023 and the Lions — who selected him in Round 2 of the 2020 NFL Draft — from 2020-22.

Swift’s lone Pro Bowl honor came as a member of the Eagles three seasons ago, when he rushed for 1,049 yards on 229 carries and five touchdowns.
