‘Fight On’ takes on new meaning as USC fans brawl in Coliseum stands
USC’s famous battle cry is “Fight On.” Apparently, a couple of Trojans fans took that a little too literally Saturday night.
Two USC fans were caught trading punches and throwing haymakers in the stands at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum during the Trojans’ 49-30 victory over Louisiana.
Video posted to X shows the two men, both wearing USC jerseys, squaring off and exchanging blows in the stands. One was wearing a No. 14 Jayden Maiava jersey as punches flew between the two before a woman wearing a USC hat intervened and began backing one of the men up the Coliseum steps.
But the fight wasn’t finished.
A second, closer angle captured the chaotic aftermath as the fan wearing Maiava’s jersey headed up the stairs, only for other fans to come charging after him. More punches were thrown as he began fighting with others while the woman continued pushing him away and screaming at him.
Naturally, social media had jokes.
“Friendly fire,” one USC fan wrote.
Another gave USC’s famous rallying cry a new interpretation.
“Fight on just took on a whole new meaning.”
USC improved to 3-0 with the victory.
The fans, meanwhile, apparently decided beating Louisiana wasn’t enough action for one night.
