‘The End of Oak Street’ Comes to Digital But When Will ‘The End of Oak Street’ Be Streaming Free on HBO Max?

It’s Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor vs. prehistoric monsters in The End of Oak Street, the recent sci-fi thriller that is coming to digital platforms to buy and rent starting tomorrow.

Written and directed by David Robert Mitchell (It Follows, Under the Silver Lake), the film stars Hathaway and McGregor as Denise and Greg Platt, loving parents of Audrey (Maisy Stella) and Brian (Christian Convery). But their perfect nuclear family is upended (literally!) when a mysterious cosmic events transports their suburban street to somewhere with prehistoric creatures. And yes, we do mean dinosaurs.

The film was produced by J.J. Abrams via his Bad Robot production company, and was well-liked by critics. (Currently, the movie has a 86 percent rating on the review aggregation website, Rotten Tomatoes.) The film took in a solid $116 million at the worldwide box office, but wasn’t exactly a runaway hit. But now that The End of Oak Street is coming to digital platforms to buy and rent, we have a feeling a lot more people will be checking the movie out. Who could resist a dino flick?

But before you drop $25 to watch this one at home, you should know that we expect to see The End of Oak Street streaming on HBO Max before the end of the year.

When will The End of Oak Street movie be streaming free on HBO Max?

You might see The End of Oak Street streaming on HBO Max around early November 2026.

All the new WB theatrical movies end up streaming on HBO Max, though the wait period has varied by title. Supergirl, for example, was released on digital about one month after opening in theaters, and began streaming on HBO Max about two-and-a-half months after it was released in theaters. If  The End of Oak Street follows a similar release pattern, you may see The End of Oak Street streaming on HBO Max around early November 2026, presumably shortly after the DVD release date on November 3.

But that’s pure speculation. The Warner Bros. home releases have varied by title. In the meantime, you can always watch the The End of Oak Street movie by buying or renting the movie online.
