Arch Manning answered honestly — maybe too honestly — when asked if he saw any AI edits after Texas’ thrilling comeback win over No. 1 Ohio State.

It was after the victory that Longhorns coach Steve Sarkisian blew off a postgame interview with ESPN sideline reporter Holly Rowe. The moment caught the attention of the internet, and fans railed against the coach’s actions.  

“That’s called Texas fight! That’s called Texas fight! Hook ’em!” Sarkisian said before abruptly walking away from Rowe after the 24-23 win last Saturday. 

The incident led to the creation of several viral AI edits, one of which showed Sarkisian slapping the longtime ESPN star and prompted a question Monday for the Heisman Trophy favorite.

“I’ve seen a few AI edits and stuff, but that’s about it. I saw AI edits of Sark’s interview,” Manning said, leading to laughter in the room. 

“Have y’all seen that one? That’s a good one,” Manning added with a smile as laugh of his own. “Of him slapping Holly Rowe? That’s hilarious.”

There was nothing funny about the 22-year-old’s response to some.

“Slapping a woman isn’t funny — even [when] done by AI. I don’t care who you are,” one user wrote in reply to clip of Manning. “What a shame that Arch and the Media in the room think it’s funny.”

Added another: “The room full of 40+ year old men laughing with him is much more concerning than the college kid finding it funny.”

Manning was the catalyst behind Texas’ historic comeback over Ohio State. He finished with 196 passing yards along with a touchdown and an interception after a quiet first half to help erase a 23-3 deficit midway through the third quarter. 

Texas, the nation’s new No. 1 team, hosts the University of Texas at San Antonio next Saturday at 8 p.m. ET.
