Don’t expect Macklemore.

After the Grammy-winning rapper chanted “free Palestine” while opening for Ed Sheeran at MetLife Stadium, NFL owners lobbied to have the ’10s hitmaker removed from the Loop Tour.

As a result, Sheeran’s other upcoming opening acts — Finneas, Aaron Rowe, Danish band Lukas Graham and Irish folk group Beoga — all also dropped out in solidarity.

“I cannot stand by and allow billionaires to use their position of power to silence the rightful voices of those who speak up against Israeli genocide and who highlight the savage murder of children,” Rowe said.

Following the fallout, Sheeran took to social media and wrote:

“I am appalled by the conflict between Israel and Palestine…after Macklemore’s performances at my New Jersey shows, venues on my upcoming tour dates communicated that they would pull the show if he was still supporting … Macklemore coming off tour was the promoter’s decision, it was not mine … I am not complicit. I have my personal views on this devastating conflict. Just because I choose not to speak publicly, it doesn’t mean I don’t have them….There is a reason I do not use my professional platform for politics … those who come to my shows do not expect a political forum.”

So, Sheeran carries on by himself.

At the time of publication, the 35-year-old West Yorkshire native has ten now totally solo North American shows remaining from September through November before heading to South America.

And, based on our findings, prices have dropped for nine of the ten last U.S. Loop Tour shows.

When our team last reported on the cheapest seats to see Sheeran at Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field on Saturday, Sept. 19, they started at $119 including fees on SeatGeek.

Now, three months later, tickets can be found for as low as $88 including fees on Vivid Seats.

The cheapest ticket for any one show is $56 including fees (that’s for the Oct. 3 Atlanta gig).

Ed Sheeran new music

On Sept. 12, 2025, Sheeran dropped his eighth album “Play.”

The extended version, which is comprised of 18 tracks, starts on a melancholy note with “Opening” before the Brit starts spitting speedy rhymes. It’s a nice fake-out indicating that it won’t be a series of straight ballads but a sonically adventurous collection of tunes.

Highlights include the bouncy singalong “Sapphire,” surefire chart-topper “Azizam” (we dare you to get this one out of your head; it’s that catchy), strummy, acoustic “Problems,” soulful, Motown-esque “A Little More” and sultry club banger “Symmetry.”

Make sure to keep an eye out for “The Vow,” too. If you’re looking for a first-dance song at your wedding, this is a prime candidate. Sweet, sentimental and charming, we’d argue this is the perfect song to help kick off a marriage.

Is Macklemore going on tour?

Not exactly.

As of now, the “Thrift Shop” rapper only has one gig in the books.

He’ll be headlining at Morrison, CO’s legendary Red Rocks Amphitheater on Thursday, Oct. 22. Tickets are available.
