‘Slow Horses’ Season 6 Cast Guide: Meet The New Players In ‘Slow Horses’ Strange, Strange Game
A new season of Apple TV‘s hit spy series Slow Horses means new cast members and characters to meet! (And in this case, a few old faces to refresh yourselves on!)
In Season 6 of the Emmy and BAFTA-winning show, Jackson Lamb (Sir Gary Oldman), Diana Taverner (Kristin Scott Thomas), River Cartwright (Jack Lowden), Catherine Standish (Saskia Reeves), Louisa Guy (Rosalind Eleazar), Roddy Ho (Christopher Chung), and J.K. Coe (Tom Brooke) return. But with Slough House agents past and present on the run from trained assassins and River’s dear old dad, Frank Harkness (Hugo Weaving), they meet a number of fresh faces.
Lenny Rush, Kyle Soller, MyAnna Buring, and Harry Lloyd are just a few of Slow Horses Season 6’s new stars. Meanwhile, Olivia Cooke, Ruth Bradley, Samuel West, and Joanna Scanlan return with elevated involvement.
In celebration of Slow Horses‘ swift return, we assembled a handy cast guide to help you get to know some of the new players and guest stars joining Season 6’s strange, strange game.
Olivia Cooke as Sidonie “Sid” Baker

As we learned in Season 6’s jaw-dropping trailer, among the former Slough House agents who emerge from the shadows as the group is being hunted is none other than Sidonie “Sid” Baker (Olivia Cooke). Feel like you haven’t heard that name in years? You’re right! The Slow Horses — and viewers — haven’t seen Sid since Season 1 and believed she was dead this whole time, which is why we broke down everything you need to remember about Sid ahead of her Season 6 return here.
It’s wonderful to see Olivia Cooke on Slow Horses again, but she’s been booked and busy over the years, with 30 film and TV credits, including A Talent for Murder, House of the Dragon, The Girlfriend, Ready Player One, Bates Motel, Sound of Metal, and more.
Lenny Rush as Reece Nesmith

As noted in Decider’s full Slow Horses Season 6 review, “the show’s newest standout star is Lenny Rush, who plays Reece Nesmith, a young witness to a murder who will slay viewers with his unexpected sass and expert comedic timing.”
If Rush looks familiar, you may recognize him from nearly 20 film and TV credits, including Am I Being Unreasonable?, Enola Holmes 2, Doctor Who, Dodger, A Woman of Substance, The Dumping Ground, and more. You can follow Lenny Rush on Instagram at @mrlennyrush to stay up-to-date with the actor outside of Slow Horses.
Kyle Soller as Jim and MyAnna Buring as Jane

In addition to Harkness, two assassins Kyle Soller’s Jim and MyAnna Buring’s Jane are on the hunt for the Slow Horses. While we wait to learn more about their mysterious characters and motives, let’s learn more about the actors who play them!
If Soller looks familiar, you may recognize him from years of stage, screen, and voice work. Per IMDb, he’s starred in dozens of popular TV series and films, including Death by Lightning, Andor, Anna Karenina, The Titan, Poldark, and more. And Buring, an actor and writer, has amassed over 70 film and TV credits, including The Witcher, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Parts 1 and 2, Doomsday, Kill List, The Descent, Ripper Street, Downton Abbey, and more. You can follow Kyle Soller and MyAnna Burning on Instagram at @kyle_soller and @myannaburing to learn more.
Ruth Bradley as Emma Flyte

Ruth Bradley returns as Emma Flyte, and dare I say it’s her best season yet! Since Flyte’s Season 4 introduction, she’s become a crucial member of the Slow Horses team, and it’s great to see her spread her wings, find her voice, and step her game up with a meatier role in Season 6.
Outside of Slow Horses, the Irish actor has nearly 50 film and TV credits, including Ted Lasso, Humans, Love/Hate, The Gold, Concordia, The Innocence Project, and more. You can follow Ruth Bradley on Instagram at @ruthbradley24 to stay up-to-date with the actor outside of Slow Horses.
Harry Lloyd as Damien Cantor

Harry Lloyd joins Season 6 as Damien Cantor, the owner of a right-leaning British news channel who visits MI5 in Episode 1. With Peter Judd in his corner, we have a feeling Damien doesn’t have the purest intentions. And without spoiling anything, we’ll just say Diana hasn’t seen the last of him…
If Lloyd looks familiar, you may recognize the English actor, writer, and producer from more than 60 film and TV credits, including Prime Target, Anthropoid, Jane Eyre, The Theory of Everything, The Iron Lady, Counterpart, Manhattan, Game of Thrones, Robin Hood, The Fear, and more. You can follow Harry Lloyd on Instagram at @mrharrylloyd to stay up-to-date with the actor outside of Slow Horses.
Samuel West as Peter Judd

After appearances in Seasons 1-3 and Season 5, Samuel West’s recurring character Peter Judd — a right-wing politician — is back for Season 2 with renewed confidence, a new partner in crime in Damien Cantor, and a desire to control Diana.
While West is easily detestable in Slow Horses, the English actor, narrator, and theater director has a beloved on-screen presence with more than 100 film and TV credits, including Howards End, Van Helsing, Darkest Hour, All Creatures Great & Small, The Dark Is Rising, Mr Selfridge, and more.
Joanna Scanlan as Moira Tregorian

Joanna Scanlan returns! We met MI5 admin worker Moira Tregorian in Season 4, and she’s back in action like never before. Based on a scene of her getting a mystery substance sprayed at her in the trailer, it seems like she may be on the Slough House hit list, too. Hate that for her, but love that we’re seeing more of Scanlan this season.
The legendary British actor and writer has over 100 film and TV credits, including The Thick of It, Big School, Getting On, Puppy Love, No Offence, Requiem, The Larkins, Riot Women, Hold the Sunset, and more.
Lucian Msamati as Oliver Nash

While we’ll have to wait a while to meet Lucian Msamati’s character, Oliver Nash, we can share that he’s Chairman of the Limitations Committee, which oversees MI-5, and thus, First Desk Diana Taverner. In the Season 6 teaser, Oliver is shown saying, “No one is unaccountable, Diana. No one.” So it feels like the two could butt heads down the line…
If Msamati looks familiar, you may recognize the 50-year-old British-Tanzanian actor, director, writer, and producer from nearly 50 film and television roles, including Game of Thrones, Conclave, Gangs of London, His Dark Materials, Luther, See How They Run, The Good Liar, The International, and more. Msamati is also known for work in theater, voice acting, and radio.
New episodes of Slow Horses Season 6 premiere Wednesdays on Apple TV.
