Accused Oregon serial killer Jesse Calhoun has been indicted over a sixth death, a homeless woman who has been missing for nearly four years.

Calhoun, 41, has already been charged with the second-degree murders of five women – Ashley Real, 22, Kristin Smith, 22, Charity Perry, 24, Bridget Webster, 31, and Joanna Speaks, 32 — as well as two charges of four counts of second-degree abuse of a corpse.

He was charged Wednesday with the first-degree manslaughter of Elizabeth “Libby” Gibson, 32, in late November 2022, when she vanished — making her his first alleged victim, according to authorities.

Investigators have not revealed how Gibson, a homeless woman, died.

Unlike the other women, whom he is charged with murdering, a grand jury indicted him this time for first-degree manslaughter “for unlawfully and recklessly under circumstances manifesting extreme indifference to the value of human life,” causing Gibson’s death, the Multnomah County District Attorney said

“Our family is grateful that a definitive step toward justice is finally being taken for our sister, Libby,” Gibson’s family said of the charge.

“Libby was kind, creative and silly. She welcomed everyone with love and acceptance. Her future was tragically taken from her way [too] soon.”

Calhoun will be arraigned on Monday, DA Nathan Vasquez said while vowing justice for all the dead women’s families.

“We will not stop,” Vasquez said, labeling Gibson’s death a “profound and horrific tragedy.”

“We will do everything in our power to hold him accountable and see that justice is done for each and every one of these victims. We remain committed to these families for as long as it takes.”

Calhoun, whose criminal history dates back to 2003, was identified as a person of interest in connection with the deaths of Real, Smith, Perry and Webster’s deaths in July 2023 after investigators identified “links between [the] four cases.”

Smith was found dead in woodland in southeast Portland on Feb. 19 2023 – some two months after being reported missing.

Calhoun is accused of killing Perry on March 8 before murdering Speaks 10 days after, and Webster on April 26.

Real’s body was found on May 7 but it remains unclear when she was allegedly killed by Calhoun.

Calhoun was charged with the murders of Perry, Webster and Speaks in 2024, before being charged over Smith’s death the following year.

In May, he was charged with Real’s murder – which was welcomed by her dad, Jose. 

“I never thought or imagined that my family would experience something like this,” he told KOIN through an interpreter.

“I’m still really grateful with God because now there’s someone responsible. He’s named for what happened to my daughter.”

Calhoun has pleaded not guilty to the previous murder charges.
