WASHINGTON — US military operators observed floating orbs flying at nearly 500 miles per hour over the Middle East last year, according to the latest release Friday of declassified UFO files by the Pentagon.

A 2025 report from US Central Command (CENTCOM) details a sighting of “six small spherical objects, grouped together” and “frequently changing direction” at 480 mph.

Accompanying the report was one minute of video footage showing the objects as they flew over what appeared to be a desert region.

Another video, from 2023, captured circular objects flying over the Yellow Sea that were spotted by an infrared sensor aboard a US military platform.

That same year, a Colorado law enforcement officer recorded a 15-minute cell phone video showing a UFO with “red, blue and green flashing lights” that remained “silent” as it hovered in the sky.

More than seven decades earlier, records from the office of the US Air Force Director of Intelligence discussed “flying disc” incidents recorded between September and December 1952.

A Navy warrant officer also saw what looked like flying discs near Tremonton, Utah, that July, an incident that he caught on camera only for an official investigation to assess they “were likely seabirds.”

The 16mm Kodachrome color motion-picture footage was captured with a Bell and Howell auto master camera on July 2, 1952, by chief warrant officer Delbert Newhouse, who was traveling from Washington, DC, to Portland, Ore., and ended up “filming a group of bright airborne objects.”

“The film later became one of the visual cases reviewed by Project Blue Book, the 1952–1969 U.S. Air Force program that investigated the nature and origin of unidentified flying objects (UFOs),” the declassified document webpage stated.

Investigators also tried to determine whether the officer had recorded “pillow balloons” and contacted General Mills, “the only known manufacturer of pillow balloons at the time, to determine whether a balloon release could account for the incident.

The Air Force Photo Reconnaissance Lab concluded in 1956 that the light in the film “was caused by seagulls soaring in thermal air currents.”

Another analysis said that it is “believed to be reasonably certain that the reflection brightness of these objects exceeds that of any natural diffusing type of reflecting object, such as white birds against the sky.”

The day before Newhouse shot his video, an unidentified correspondent reported seeing a “white object, shaped like an “elongated oval” but “fatter than a cigar,” about 100 feet in length.

The files have been released after President Trump signed an executive order this past February declassifying most information about the strange sightings.
