As of early Friday afternoon, Jared Young remained hospitalized following a frightening collision the night prior. 

The Mets’ first baseman was alert and conscious, sources said, but was dealing with significant concussion symptoms while undergoing additional testing.

Further information is expected from interim manager Andy Green late Friday afternoon ahead of the game against the Phillies, but the most encouraging developments have been that Young has feeling in his extremities and a CT scan came back negative. 

“At this point in time, it looks like he avoided the scariest outcome,” Green said Thursday, after Young was knocked unconscious and had to be stretchered off the field.

On the play, Nolan McLean’s knee slammed into Young’s head while the two scrambled to try to record an out at first base.
