James Wehr had a string of traffic violations on his record before the fiery McLaren crash that killed the car influencer and his passenger in Irvine.

Court documents obtained by TMZ show Wehr was cited in Westminster, California, on Feb. 7, 2025, for driving 75 mph in a 65-mph zone.

He was behind the wheel of a black 2017 Audi at the time.

Records also show citations involving an expired license, tinted windows and the Audi’s missing front license plate.

Wehr, 27, who co-founded South OC Cars and Coffee, died Sept. 13 when his 2019 McLaren crashed in Irvine, splitting in two and bursting into flames.

Alexis “Lexi” Kramer, 22, was also killed in the wreck.

The collision happened just after midnight.

Irvine police said Wehr accelerated at a high rate of speed after a traffic light turned green before losing control of the McLaren, which struck a curb and a tree.

Dashcam footage from another vehicle appears to show the McLaren encountering water on the roadway shortly before the crash.

The car’s brake lights flash before it swerves right and slams into a tree.

That wet roadway is now a key point of focus for Wehr’s widow, Emma, who hired attorney Corey Higgins of iAccidentLawyer days after the crash. 

Higgins is seeking to determine where the water came from, and whether it contributed to the deadly wreck.

The circumstances involving Kramer have also drawn anger from her family.

A family member told The Post that the 22-year-old had flown from Lakeland, Florida, to meet Wehr after he said he was in the process of separating from Emma.

According to the family member, Wehr and Kramer spent time together before the crash, with relatives upset that he had wined and dined her only hours before the fatal wreck while still married.

“She loved the car community, so it’s such a tragedy that that’s what ended her,” the family member told The Post.
