‘F–k Lane Kiffin’ chants drown out Pat McAfee on ‘College GameDay’ before heated Ole Miss return
Ole Miss fans made their feelings about Lane Kiffin known loud and clear early Saturday morning.
Just seconds into ESPN’s “College GameDay” broadcast from Oxford, Rebels fans erupted into a “F— Lane Kiffin” chant ahead of the former Ole Miss coach’s return with LSU on Saturday night.
The profane chant was clearly audible on the broadcast as Pat McAfee opened the show from The Grove.

The jeers got even louder when Kiffin joined the show for a virtual interview, with his face showing up on screen for the crowd to see.
“It’s not about me,” Kiffin said during the appearance
“Both teams have great players, great coaches. I have a lot of respect for their programs. This is about the players performing really well tonight in a really awesome matchup.”
Officials are expecting a raucous scene at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, where security has been significantly increased for Kiffin’s return to Oxford.
On Friday, Kiffin prepared his team with a tense environment by enlisting a group of LSU students to heckle Tigers players as they departed the practice field.
The hostility from Rebel fans has even extended to Kiffin’s daughter, Landry, an Ole Miss student who said she was targeted this week by vulgar banners containing sexual jokes about her that were hung around Oxford.
Kiffin is returning to Oxford for the first time since leaving Ole Miss for LSU during the 2025 season.
During his six-year run at the school, he went 55-19 and led the Rebels to their first College Football Playoff appearance last year.
Kiffin left Ole Miss before it began its playoff run, with former defensive coordinator Pete Golding taking over as head coach.
